Building and Facilities Forder was originally built in the 1930s but has been enlarged several times since then to keep up with an expanding enrollment. Mission Statement The Mission of Forder School is to provide an education based on quality and equity and equality, an education that is devoted to high achievement in the midst of high expectations, an education that promotes personal respect and responsibility, an education that is both safe and child-centered, an education that counts on-and encourages and anticipates-the involvement of the community, our families, and our staff, and an education that reinforces the belief that active readers become life-long learners.
Technology Forder boasts a computer lab with 30 networked computers. Computers are used throughout the school. There are now 4 student computers and one teacher computer in every classroom. We also have computers in the school office, the cafeteria, the health room and the library for book check-out. m. The students use the computers for the Scholastic Reading Counts Program and the Scholastic Reading Inventory Program. These are reading diagnostic and comprehension programs. They can also access the library online catalog from their rooms. Every computer has Internet access, Grolier On-Line, Microsoft Office, the Tungsten testing program and many other programs.
